So I guess we are still not used to the time change. We went to bed at midnight and were up by 3 am! Unfortunately Roy had to rise and shine by 6 so he could get to work by 7. I then got myself up so I could get my first training run in before the heat kicked in, as I begin to prepare myself for the Rock 'n Roll half marathon in September. I took the bike down to the beach off the promenade and it was such a nice run. It did get pretty hot towards the end of my run but the bike ride home was pretty refreshing! Then I laid by the pool and read as I cooled off.
It didn't take long for me to get bored and hopped on the bike again to go to the beach. It was nice laying out, but so very hot. I think I was in the water more than I was on the beach! Roy then called me asking if I want to go out to lunch and I did. We went to this very nice restaurant, again didn't pay attention to the name I need to get better at this. But Roy had wings and a duck wrap and I had a turkey, mozzarella and sundried tomato salad. Yum! I also had the opportunity to meet a lot of his work friends, which was very nice! Laura and Holly are both super super sweet people! They are also offering some great ideas on what to do on the weekend, and now we are thinking about renting a car to go to the other side of the island. Apparently all the good beaches are there!
We ended the day by walking home together from Roy's work and stopped at Meli's where we picked up a few things to make dinner at home. We had pork skewers and samosas, both very delicious. We then relaxed by watching Orange is the New Black and then off to bed! (We were so tired from not sleeping the night before).
