Day 2: Gaining our bearings

After 13 hours, yes 13 hours of sleep!  We got out and about to figure out where everything is.  We took a very long, hot walk to Roy's office.  We found out it is about a 30 minute walk and it does not take long to get sweaty here.  We found a 'Walmart' esque type shopping center called Carrefour which had everything we would need for the next three weeks.  We then stopped at a bakery for a quick lunch.  Roy had this baguette prosciutto sandwich and I had a caesar salad with homemade dressing!  Yum!!!

We walked home, again in the almost 100 degree heat, and then quickly went over to La Isla.  Roy's friend was DJing, but it was really nice restaurant off the Mediterranean.  We then went to another bar to catch the Wimbledon Finals and got a Keo, "a beer like bud light" Roy says.  However I think it tastes a little bit better than bud light!

The view from the bar.

Our pineapple tree!

Oddly looks like a Shake Shack

On our walk home we ended up getting transportation for the next 3 weeks!  I am so excited to be able to get out and about more and be able to explore more of the area!!!

To end the night we went out with Roy's work friend Holly and her fiancé Costas, yes another one!  They are really cool people from London and have a great sense of humor.  They actually ended up taking us to La Isla, which we thought was pretty ironic since we were there earlier with Mo, Roy's friend who DJs.  The food was great here too! We had humus with avocado, humus made of beetroot (which I now love beets!), I had mussels in a bianca sauce and Roy had stuffed chicken.  We also tried a Greek white wine which was delicious, I am sure this spelling isn't right but I am hoping it is close tsikkilli?!  I should have taken a picture of the bottle so I can remember!!

Sweet dreams.
